Toys I Make, Trips I Take leads the child on a magical journey into a remarkable Toy Shop filled with boats, trains, balls, jack-in-the-box and many other toys that bring a glimmer into a child's eyes. While some events may start in the toy shop, they may end on a tropical island, sailing off in that toy boat to a faraway land or taking the toy train over mountains and valleys, singing all the way! 

Research shows that more imaginative, pretend play scenarios help a child's language and literacy development. Some scientists even say pretend play helps children smile more, provides a critical link to developing a logical and creative thought process, and helps children grow up to be better problem solvers.

All Imagine That! At-Home Materials invite you and your child to continue the fun and learning at home. Each item allows children to expand on pretend play concepts explored in the Kindermusik classroom. The Music ranges from Jazz to Classical and from other cultures too. For the 3- and 4-year-old child, imagination is everything. Resourcefulness and creativity abound thanks to his burgeoning imagination.


   While the basis of Imagine That! is founded in the integration of music and imagination, the program’s development is the direct result of a shift in the educational research that been conducted over the past 10 years. This research confirms that pre-school age children thrive on participatory, expressive learning. Their language skills are exploding, beyond mere labeling with words. They want to talk about what they are thinking and feeling…they are ready to choose preferences, and make comparisons and predictions.


   Through extensive research, numerous parent focus groups and ongoing consultations with early childhood experts, Kindermusik International was guided and inspired to produce an exceptional educational opportunity that addresses an area never before fully tapped by a musical learning curriculum…the pre-school child’s unique affinity to learn through pretend play.


Imagine That! takes a giant step beyond preschool music programs, and allows us – and you – to capture the child’s attention, nurture the budding creativity and individuality, and enhance the overall learning process. This is accomplished through a remarkable blend of music, singing, movement, literature and imagination.


   Many songs have been specially selected or composed to encourage vocal development. Concepts and thematic activities have been carefully created. In addition, storytelling is incorporated to encourage literacy skills. And listening skills will be developed far beyond simply listening to an isolated sound. In short, there’s never before been a single early childhood program designed to maximize learning by providing so many valuable and important developmental skills and benefits.


   Imagine That! encourages and strengthens your child's exciting new relationship to the world. Kindermusik uses music to encourage early learning and creativity. Music is the means, not the goal. The goal is a more alive, creative, and able child. Kindermusik matches the child's place.
