"Our Time" Class

Can you sound like an elephant? Or hop like a bunny? Your child will uncover an engaging musical world while building confidence, self-control and communications skills. Singing, imitating sounds and rhyming foster language development. Creative movement to various musical “moods” develops a sense of balance, timing and spatial awareness. Listening and turn-taking encourage blossoming social skills. Children discover and explore specially designed instruments, hear and sing music from around the world, in many languages. Music & Movement Story Time encourages emergent literacy skills. Creative dancing affirms a child's urge to move, developing large motor skills.

"AWAY WE GO"

Away We Go is the exciting theme of this new Our Time semester. Hop on the train, get in the car, board the plane, and Away We Go! This delightful unit focuses on transportation, a favorite topic for toddlers who are on the go, go, go! Sing and play along with favorite songs, such as I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad and Wheels on the Bus. Explore fast and slow, smooth and bumpy, and high and low. Read stories about ways to get around. Shiny Dinah tells the story of a train, and Giddy-Up! includes a horse, speedboat, racecar, to help you get where you want to go. You'll move, play, and sing and laugh together!

At-Home Materials:

TWO CD's with a wide variety of captivating music. TWO 16-page literature books will complement the music, Shiny Dinah and Giddy-Up. A 39-page full color Home Activity book features scores to songs, activities to do at home for family enjoyment, interactive pages that can be removed, and resources for parents. TWO HARMONICAS also are included - one for your child and one for you! The Kindermusik Harmonicas are manufactured by Hohner, the world's leading harmonica manufacturer. They are specially designed for use by young children.
