Parents As Teachers (P.A.T.)
Family involvement in your
child's learning is a fundamental cornerstone of the P.A.T. philosophy, as
well as the
Kindermusik
philosophy. Both believe the parent is the child’s most important teacher
and the home is the most important place for a child’s learning to take
root and grow. Kindermusik gives families the opportunity to nurture their
child’s development both in class and every day!

Weeks 1 -
7
"Cock-A-Doodle MOO!" Cock-A-doodle-MOO!— Hop on the hayride—it’s time to head for the farm! In Cock-a-doodle-MOO! families will sing songs about the farm, including “Old MacDonald,” “Hayride,” and “Clever Cows.” You’ll engage in rituals and playful activities for baby and caregiver, including infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time. During the week, families will enjoy their At Home Materials, looking through a playful picturebook of animals and the sounds they make, matching wall banners, as well as a CD of the songs heard in class and a bell-in-a-cage jingle instrument for music-making at home. |
Weeks 8 - 14 "Dew Drops" Dew Drops — Stop and smell the roses—and lily of the valley, and tulips, and pansies . . . in the DewDrops unit of Kindermusik Village, families will play and move together to songs about flowers, such as “Jasmine Flower,” “How Does Your Garden Grow?,” and “White Coral Bells.” You’ll also hear traditional Irish music: dance a jig, move to the “Irish Trot,” and exercise to “Did You Ever See a Lassie.” At Home Materials are a CD of beautifully arranged songs from class, a board book of flowers, matching wall banners, and a mini rain shaker instrument for music-making at home. |

AT HOME MATERIALS As the centerpiece of each Kindermusik class, the At Home materials provide you with the tools for bringing music enrichment into your home all week long, not just in a weekly class. The CDs include a powerful collection of music and activities, from longtime children's favorites to multicultural songs in many languages. You and your child are continually introduced to a myriad of sounds, instruments, tones, lyrics, rhythms and more, for the whole family to enjoy and increase musical abilities. And by utilizing world class, award-winning musicians, the Kindermusik stamp of quality remains unmistakable. Materials vary with each program and include children's literature, specially designed baby-safe instruments and wall banners, all of which complement the music and activities. Experts in music & movement have created Kindermusik materials and curricula. |
